- Which AI assistants work?
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code Copilot connect via MCP. ChatGPT connects via OpenAPI actions. Any HTTP client can call the REST API directly.
- Do I need to bring my own AI?
- Yes. The plugin adds the tools and the safety net (the deterministic validator); you bring your assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.).
- Can the AI break my site?
- No layout is saved without a passing verdict: 15 violation classes checked across 61 Divi 5 block types. An edit either validates or it does not save, so a broken page is never saved by an AI edit. If a change passes but you do not like it, you can undo it.
- What does the validator actually check?
- Block types, required attributes, attribute shapes, and nesting rules: the full Divi 5 schema, derived from real exports. Same input, same verdict, every time.
- What can the free plugin do?
- Your assistant can list and read your Divi 5 pages, validate a layout without saving, update a page or change a single piece of text, create new pages (always saved as drafts for you to review and publish), and undo any AI edit. It also includes a built-in image pack, read-only access to your Media Library and to your site's structure (custom post types, taxonomies, image sizes and ACF field groups), the style, landing, site and image guides, and the section recipes. It does not set your front page, edit menus, or save custom CSS or PHP. All 17 free tools work on unlimited sites.
- Does it work with Advanced Custom Fields and custom post types?
- Yes, read-only. Your assistant can see your custom post types, taxonomies, image sizes and, when ACF is active, your field groups with their field names, types, choices and where each group applies. It never reads or changes field values. It can also show a field on a page by binding a module to it (text, an image or a button link), and the plugin warns it when it names a field your site does not have. ACF repeater and loop fields are not supported yet.
- Is there an approval step before the AI saves?
- Every save is checked by the validator, new pages are always drafts, you can preview any change before it is saved (a dry run), and every AI edit can be undone. If you want a stricter rule, turn on Approval mode in the plugin settings: your assistant must then preview every edit to a page before it can save it.
- Can it edit pages that use modules from other Divi add-on plugins?
- Not yet. The validator only knows Divi's own modules, so it refuses to save a page that contains a module from another plugin (for example Divi Pixel or Divi Plus), even for a text change. Your assistant can still read such a page, and it can edit every other page. Nothing is changed on a refused save, and the reply tells your assistant which block was not recognised.
- What does the Pro add-on add?
- Seventeen advanced tools: set the front page and primary menu, publish pages, add custom CSS and PHP proposals, edit live Divi headers and footers, find and replace text site-wide, audit for problems and broken links, create and edit your global colors, number and text variables and module presets, and build a whole Divi 5 site as one undoable batch. Every change is undoable. The three global-style tools work over MCP and the REST API, not through ChatGPT Actions.

- What happens when my license expires?
- Pro keeps working on every site where it is already activated. You just stop receiving new updates and support until you renew. No hostage access. Renewal reminders are sent 30 and 7 days before your renewal.
- Can I undo a Pro change?
- Yes. Every Pro tool records its changes as a batch with an undo point. One call to undo_batch restores everything safely (or tells you what could not be undone because it changed afterwards).
- Do licenses cover client sites?
- Yes. A licence covers as many sites as its tier allows, whether they are your own or your clients'. Agency cover unlimited sites.
- Is the plugin GPL?
- Yes, both free and Pro. The GPL keeps the code open; the licence pays for updates and support. You can review the code, modify it for your own use, and read it without any restrictions.
- Are the layouts really free?
- Yes. Every layout in our catalog is free to download. Drop your email and grab as many as you like.
- Is my site data sent to Divi5Lab?
- Your content is not. Your assistant talks directly to your WordPress site over its API, and neither plugin sends your pages anywhere. The free plugin makes no remote calls at all. The Pro add-on contacts divi5lab.com only to check your licence and look for updates, and sends your licence key, site address, plugin version and WordPress version to do so.
Your assistant already knows Divi. Now it can edit it safely.
